Hi!  We're Jenna & Ronnie, the breeders behind The Animal Farm @ Clewiston (located in Clewiston, FL/South Central Florida.) Our dogs are bred for health and temperament, and less for strict breed standards. (This just means we don’t breed our dogs to show, although they are acceptable to breed standards). We focus on creating great family pets (temperament, health, and intelligence) and less on creating the perfect show dog.

We have always loved animals and owned dogs and cats in our family since we were children. We never wanted to breed dogs until we purchased a dog from a “breeder” and the dog was sick, skittish, and terrified of other dogs. We immediately thought that we could raise such a better and well adjusted puppy, a pup that would be much easier to acclimate to a home because it was raised in a home!

After seeing the way most breeders keep their dogs in kennels and had very little interaction with their dogs and pups, we both vowed there had to be a better way. We owned a male and female chihuahua, and let them breed for our first litter, raised them in our home as family pets, found homes for 4 out of the 5, and kept the runt of the litter as our (favorite!) pet. All 4 dogs adapted perfectly to their homes and all their new owners were thrilled!  We've since moved on from chihuahuas (although you can see them in our Previous Pups section!), but the shiba inus have truly stolen our hearts.

These pups are raised in our home with the rest of the “pack”. They are not caged and have access to the yard via a doggy door! Because of this, they are ideal as family pets, have begun potty training to go outside (NOT on puppy pads!) and are exposed to other dogs, cats, chickens, and even a pig.  We also have a young baby and our pups are around him constantly, so they are used to small children!

 

These will be the most socialized and well adapted pups you’ll ever add to your family! :)
